celebrate Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is observed on the second Sunday of May to celebrate the wonderful women in our lives, who are the basic foundation of our existence. Mothers are an embodiment of compassion and kindness—two values intrinsic to Akshaya Patra’s efforts to serve the children to support their nutrition and education.

Akshaya Patra serves as the implementing partner of the Government’s flagship school feeding programme, PM POSHAN (formerly known as the Mid-Day Meal Scheme).

Just how a mother ensures that her child is well fed at all times, we at Akshaya Patra, strive to make sure that children in government and government-aided schools have access to at least one wholesome meal every day throughout an academic year. This acts as an incentive for parents to send their wards to school, thus increasing the enrolment and attendance rates. The meals that the children receive help them to pursue their dreams.

Just how a mother always wants the best of everything for her child, Akshaya Patra kitchens continuously try to deliver the best nutrition to children. Quality of food is given high importance and care is taken at all times to ensure that hygienic, fresh, hot and nutritious and tasty food reach children on time every day.

Cooking at these kitchens start as early as 4 am in the morning and meals are delivered to school on time every single day. The kitchen employees are like that mother who starts her day early while her child enjoys his doldrums of sleep.

This year, Mother’s Day will be observed on 14th May 2023.

So what better way to celebrate Mother’s Day but to channelise compassion and kindness in all of us and show unconditional love and unending care to those who need them the most?

You can do this by donating to an NGO in India. When you donate to feed children, you don’t just take care of a basic necessity but you put them on a path to bright future, enabling them to break the vicious cycle of poverty. It’s more critical now than ever to help them.

One of the ways you can make a difference in the lives of ‘children’ from backgrounds with limited opportunities is by donating to Akshaya Patra’s kitchens that reflect a mother’s love and care.

When you support Akshaya Patra, you are giving children the chance to happiness, nutrition, education and perseverance.

This Mother’s Day, honour your mother’s values by imparting unconditional love and care. Nourish children.
